The last few weeks...a review

About a month ago almost to to today, I was sitting around my room on a Friday afternoon. I had had a good PT session in the morning and was wondering what the weekend would bring.
However, all those questions were quickly answered when I discovered I had a mass amount of blood in my urine. More to the point it looked more like I had urine in my blood.
I quickly went to medical and they told me I most likely had another kidney stone on deck. GREAT!
So over the next 24 hours I was x-rayed and given bag after bag of IV fluid. Still no joy on the kidney stone resolving itself. I was then put on a plane to Guam and given a ultrasound.
Come to find out I had a 7mm kidney stone.
Funny thing is to this point I was only feeling uncomfortable. That would all change radically and soon.
I was put on bed rest in Guam and told to my surgery was in a few days.
So I went in and had surgery where they went up my urethra and to get to the stone resting in the upper part of my kidney.
Not fun...
I woke up with the surgeon at my bedside. He told me they weren't able to get to the stone as I have too much scar tissue from previous stones.
I was also told I had a stint left in me to help things flow.
After that I DID begin to feel the stone and I DID start having pain...LOTS OF PAIN.
So I was put on another plane and sent to Hawaii.
Upon arrival on Oahu, I was told my doctors appointment would be in a few days and I should just stay off my feet.
So I did that. I was a long uncomfortable week.
On top of the stone pain the meds I was on to cut off the pain had me impacted and and the stint was giving me a infection.
However, I made it through it.
Let me say right here that going through something like surgery and illness is something that should be avoided going through alone at all costs....all costs.
There were nights when I was in pain and just overwhelmed with everything.
My command was doing their best to be supportive but still I was quite alone.
Coming to back to Hawaii I was able to have some old friends at least around me. That helped more than anyone knows. To wake up from surgery number 2 and have someone at your bedside who actually cares about you.
Surgery number 2 did the trick. They got the stone I have been mending since.
Last Monday had me back in the emergency room with a new stone.
Funny thing was that it was this one hurt bad right off the bat.
Since that stone a week ago I have been slowly feeling better again. My energy isn't back to 100 percent but that is getting better too.
So this weekend I head back to Diego Garcia to pack my stuff and leave after the first of the month.
More on that later...
It is just good to feel better.

That sounds like pure Hell. I hope I never experience anything like that. Sorry you did.
