Tuff Times on Sesame Street

Well the recession is now hitting us where it hurts. Sesame Street is having to make cut backs. The Children's Television Workshop is laying off a fifth of its workforce.
Now I am beginning to worry here. There just isn't a whole lot of work out there for seven foot yellow birds.
However, I think bigbird is safe in his job as he has been a regular character with lots of screen time since I was a kid.
We all know Elmo isn't going anywhere. I heard he just renewed his contract after it became known that his agent had met with the WWE about making a five year deal, with a possible push to the belt on their Smackdown brand in a fued with HHH.
So what Muppets are in danger of getting the ax?
Well Telly has been played out. No one likes a whimpy muppett so I am thinking he is gone. He brings nothing to the show and off camera he is rumored to have a problem with the nose candy.
Cookie Monster is no longer cool. When I was a kid it was cool to gouge on cookies. Now not so much. So Cookie is played out. No parent wantes their kid emulating Cookie Monster. There has even been real talk(no joke here) about repacking the Cookie Monster as the Veggie Monster.
Bert I am sad to say is most likely out. The dude has a unibrow and hangs out with pigeons. Plus getting rid of bottle cap collecting, pigeon loving tail will once and for all get rid of all the jokes and wondering about wether or not he and Ernie. By the way I flipped past Sesame Street the other day and BERT AND ERNIE HAVE SEPERATE BEDS THEY ARE NOT GAY!
Ms. Piggy- Ok the muppett show is cancelled and they havent made anything with any of the recent muppett stuff hasent needed her at all. Get rid of her and give Rizzo a raise.

In all seriousness it is sad that one of the great things of our country is making cutback...lets hope is turns around soon. We can't loose our Muppets!
