A Heavy Heart
As I have written before the world is alot smaller and word gets around.
So it is with a heavy heart that I write that two of my friends from highschool are gone.
I found out today that Kris Zale one of my first friends after I moved to, Kennesaw, Ga., died in 2002 after batteling a illness. Details are still sketchy.
Kris was in my Biology class. She laughed at my jokes and used to say that talking to me made her day better. Kris had a smile that would melt my heart and I enjoyed goofing around with her.
Looking back I probably had a half decent chance with Kris but I was too dumb to notice or think such a pretty girl would want anything to do with me.
Ashli Fisher-Holley was probably the prettiest girl in North Cobb. Like every guy at North Cobb I thought she was gorgeous. In my final term in high school I had a class with Ashli, it was speech. In this class I got to know her and found out that she wasent only a pretty face but a warm hearted person, with a great mind to boot. She cared about her friends and actually took the time to talk to the geeky awkward kid that I was.
On my final day of school(I only did half a year that year) she gave me a ride home from school. I remember her smile as she said bye to me and we wished each other good luck.
I ran into her at the 10 year reunion, in 2000, and we excahanged pleasentries.
She had done well with her life and was married. This last month we had gotten reaquantied through Facebook. She was now the proud parent of a son.
We lost her this past week in a auto accident.
I know as we get older it is expected that we will lose old friends we havent thought of in years. However, I wanted to take a minute and remember two friends of mine from long ago that I remember fondly.
Goodbye Ashli and Kris...you are remembered fondly.

Hi Rob. I am Kris Zale. Married name is McIntyre. I am very much alive. Sherry Thurman was who had passed away. She was in our class. I think I remember you though.
