And Now a Word on E-mails

You know I don't think the people that created e-mail wanted it so people could forward the latest pic of a poodle in a mini-skirt. Nor do I think they were going for people having the ability to send some lame joke that someone sent to them along with 40 other people.
I think the internet is a great thing. We now have more ways then ever to communicate and disseminate all types of information. However, it is truly sad when a person uses most of their time to send out some damn joke.
I have a relative(I know he won't be reading this) who sends at least 10 forwarded jokes to me a day. Never once has this guy ever wrote me a real e-mail but just as sure as the sun will rise in the east this guy will send me several e-mails a day with the tag of FW: on them everyday. I don't even open them anymore...I just delete them.
Recently an old friend from back in N.J. childhood got in touch with me through Classmates.com. I was happy to know she is happily married and doing well. I shared with her my e-mail address and said please keep in touch. Why did I do that?
This morning I opened my e-mail and found 20 forwarded emails! 20!
OK...I wrote her a nice e-mail asking her not to send me anymore "cute" e-mails.
Back when I got my first e-mail my good friend in Hawaii Chris use to send me relentless amounts of junk e-mail...Chris please stop, your killing me. To this she would just laugh and say deal with it. She was one of my closest friends...so from her I dealt with it.
I really enjoy getting and replying to e-mails. It lets me know people I care about are doing well and I can reply in kind. Plus you don't have to got to the Post Office(the Devil) and deal with those jerks.
So I ask...am I alone here...are there people here who actually see the FW: tag on an e-mail and say, "oh goodie Frank sent me yet another joke, I must open it."
Ok I will admit there is one caveat to this. When I get one that has girls with no tops on...I like those ones! I know a friend of mine from Ga., is always good for a couple of them.
But really and seriously...who really wants these e-mails?
